At the Conference of summarizing production and business in 2018 and deploying the tasks of 2019 of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh recognized the position of the Vietnamese rubber industry which is increasingly confirmed.
At the Conference of summarizing production and business in 2018 and deploying the tasks of 2019 of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, on behalf of the Government, congratulated and presented positive achievements that VRG achieved in 2018.
Deputy Prime Minister said the achievements of Vietnam's economy in 2018 have contributed significantly by many sectors, including the rubber industry. Although the rubber price in 2018 decreased significantly compared to 2017, the country's rubber export volume reached 1.58 million tons, worth over US $ 2.1 billion, up 14.5% in volume, but 6.1% decrease in value compared to the same period in 2017.
Considering the group of rubber-related products including raw rubber, industrial rubber products and rubber wood products, the export value is over 6.7 billion USD. Deputy Prime Minister said: "The position of Vietnam's rubber industry in the international arena is increasingly confirmed. Vietnam currently ranks the third in the world in the production and export of natural rubber, with the average yield of rubber plantations currently leading the world”.
In particular, Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated, VRG has created jobs for more than 81.000 employees, including more than 25,000 ethnic people, with an average salary of 6.1 million and income The average is 7 million VND / person / month. This is a good income level for rural areas, contributing to the implementation of Resolution 26 / TW of the Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
In 2019, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, VRG should focus on directing drastically, strengthening the system and strong apparatus, focusing on drastically directing the Party and Government resolutions. At the same time, it is in need to choose the strength to create a breakthrough in the direction of improving the quality of growth, fast and sustainable development, striving to successfully implement the 2019 plan to create a premise for the following years.
“VRG needs to continue promoting trade, exploiting and opening new markets. Enhance the processing of rubber and rubber wood products to increase the value of rubber trees, reducing crude exports to increase the value in exports. Actively promote industrial parks, have appropriate policies to attract investment, take advantage of opportunities for foreign investors interested in expanding investment scale in Vietnam ”- Deputy Prime Minister said.
