VRG will go along with the trend of sustainable development
At the Seminar "Consultation on building materials for the sustainable rubber production techniques" on 22 December organized by VRG, VRG stated that the sustainable development is an inevitable trend of the world and the group will go along this trend.
At the seminar "Consultation on building materials for the sustainable rubber production techniques” on December 22 by VRG with the presence of 63 delegates from 27 member units, Mr. Truong Minh Trung – Deputy General Director VRG said that sustainable development is an inevitable trend of the world and the Group advocates to develop in this way.
The document "Guidelines for sustainable rubber production techniques" has been developed through the UN - REDD Vietnam Program Phase II of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), to support sustainable agricultural production according to Decision No. 419 / QD-TTg dated 5 April 2017 of the Prime Minister which approved the National Program on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through limiting forest loss and degradation; conservation, enhancement of carbon stocks and sustainable management of forest resources by 2030 (REDD + Program).
The Seminar discussed additional issues, suggestions and finalization of documents in the coming time, at the same time disseminated to member units, members within and outside the Group. Also in this meeting, the compilation team representative also said that the development of technical guidelines on sustainable production to help the rubber industry have the tools to implement the national REDD + Program and be consistent with the international standards, contributing to reducing deforestation and forest degradation. The document guides technical solutions to sustainable production from planting, caring, harvesting to processing natural rubber and rubber wood, creating a sustainable source of raw materials for deep processing industries.
In addition, the recommended solutions in the document are selected on the basis of inheriting the technical process of rubber trees of VRG and supplementing advanced solutions in the cultivation and processing of rubber and wood latex rubber.
This is considered a practical handbook for farmers on rubber gardens and in raw material processing factories, which helps managers and farmers understand the process of producing natural rubber and rubber wood to guide for others.
According to Dr. Tran Dai Nghia, the UN - REDD Vietnam Program Specialist said that the new orientations in the REDD + strategy and opportunities with the rubber industry are huge.
