Rubber export in early 2019

Rubber exports in early 2019 increased by 16% in volume and 0.8% in value

In early 2019, Vietnam's rubber exports to countries reached 157.15 thousand tons, equivalent to US $ 199.78 million, up 16% in volume and 0.8% in value.

In January 2019, China continued to be the largest Vietnam rubber importer, with a turnover of USD 131.63 million, up 20.95% over the same period last year. India ranked second with USD 17.78 million, an increase of 6.62% compared to January 2018. South Korea has been the third largest importer, but there was a decrease in turnover (-14.03%), corresponding to USD 6.18 million. These three countries accounted for 77.88% of Vietnam's total rubber import turnover in the world.

Compared to the same period in 2018, there were 10/27 countries with significant growth in turnover, such as the Netherlands (2 times increase in turnover and USD 2.41 million), Finland (up 82.36%) and Mexico (67.18%). Although their turnover was not high, there was a great growth in turnover, showing potential in the upcoming time.

In contrast, Malaysia (down 75.96%, with USD 3.89 million), Taiwan (down 53.53%, equivalent to $ 2.49 million), United States (down 30.5%, corresponding to USD 4.22 million, South Korea (down 14.03%, equivalent to USD 6.18 million) are big turnover countries but decreased in turnover, affecting the export turnover of rubber in Vietnam. Despite an increase compared to the same period, the increasing rate was a bit lower than that of 01/2018.
